Well the weekend has been sunny and bright - perfectly glorious….or was it….?! 🧐 Read on… For many - Imbolc was from sunset yesterday until sunset today, but the astronomical Imbolc is actually tomorrow evening (3rd) when we’ll be at the midpoint between the winter solstice and spring equinox. So sunshine today is good right? Well maybe not…. if you follow the legend of the Cailleach you’ll know that we want bad weather on Imbolc as a sign that winter is nearly over. Good weather suggests that the Cailleach is awake and needing to gather more fuel to see her through winter days still to come. Bad weather would suggest she is asleep, with no further need for logs for the fire because spring is almost here. ❄️🪵🔥 😲
