You’ll have seen the Government alert that went out on Friday 14th August advising that:
‘residents, landowners and visitors should not undertake any activity that could start a fire’.  There have already been worrying wildfires in our region as indeed there have been in other parts of the UK. This means that from now until the such time as the Government guidance is updated, our guests won’t be able to use the firepits.  Sadly, it also means that the hot tubs (which are optional extras at Longview, Roundhouse and Woodcutter’s Cottage – paid for on site and not included in the accommodation price) cannot be heated either – the risk is too great of sparks from the stove and chimney catching and the whole farm, like the rest of the country, is tinder dry. With our local water supply also subject to limitations fire risk needs to be taken very seriously.

These measures are in line with those being taken by all responsible glamping and camping sites around the country.

Obviously our guests still have access to cooking facilities within their accommodation, and if guests wish to use the tubs as a cold plunge instead then we are offering that at a charge of £15 (rather than £30 which usually includes the logs to heat it).  To be honest most of our guests have been skipping on the campfires and not heating the tubs anyway given the heat over the past few weeks.

Please take note and bear this in mind when making a booking for the remainder of the summer season.
