#KidsOffGrid – Campfire Cookups!

Everyone knows that you rate a good glamping trip by its campfire – it’s the focus for all the outdoor fun. If you’ve stayed with us you’ll know that each of our spaces has its own firepit and comes complete with all the equipment you need to cook or BBQ over your fire. 

Most of you cook up a storm while you’re here and we know that your kids love joining in. But we started to realise that our #KidsOffGrid are very often the ones with the best fire skills because they’ve learned them at forest school or cubs or brownies. They can often teach the grownups a thing or two about fire safety! With that in mind we wanted to give them the chance to really put their campfire cooking to the test.

So we’ve come up with a range of Campfire Cookups especially for our #KidsOffGrid. The menu includes loads of taste sensations from Campfire Popcorn through to Campfire Quesadillas, from One Pot Sausage & Beans, to Banana & Chocolate Waffles.  Each box come with all the ingredients needed to put a snack, treat or a light bite together and full instructions on how to make it. All your kids need to do is take a look at the menu, place an order for whichever box takes their fancy, and make sure they have a grown up ready to assist them where necessary.

The best bit for grown ups is that your kids can enjoy the creative fun of cooking without messing up your kitchen! Ok, there’ll still be the washing up to do (the kids can help with that too!) but all the food prep can be done by the kids sitting on the grass with a few bowls and utensils in front of them where a few spills don’t matter in the slightest. The kids all love knowing theve managed to cook their own glamping grub and we love knowing they’ve learn some new skills in the process.

Some of the recipes involve using special campfire cooking equipment – like a campfire waffle maker, a heavy skillet for pizza making, or a popcorn pan – so we’ll provide that too.  What is guaranteed is that you’ll have loads of fun creating your own campfire cuisine!  We had a crack team of #KidsOffGrid put the recipes to the test and they scored us a 10/10 so we feel certain that they are going to be a big hit.
