Exciting news!  In May we’re offering a two-day plein air art-course here at Swallowtail Hill. We love that our guests often bring their sketch books, paints and easels with them to capture our wonderful landscape while they are enjoying a break here, and May is the month when our wildflower meadows are in full bloom, so we thought we’d create a break especially for those who’d like to dedicate some time to their art. But you don’t have to be a keen artist to join in – if this is something you’ve never done before but you’d like to give it a go then this is for you too!

Local artist-teacher Catherine Farr will guide you through making visual memories of the landscape using a variety of skills and materials. You will create your own nature diaries leading on to a larger piece of work. The workshop is for all abilities.

The course includes two full days’ teaching, two nights’ accommodation in one of our wonderful and secluded cabins and cottages, and all meals.

From 18th-20th May. Prices start from £250pp for two people sharing a cabin or £360 sole occupancy. Rates are also available for non-residential course attendees, and partners who want to come along but not participate in the course.
