We’re offering a plein-air art course here at Swallowtail Hill – 14th to 16th October.  Once again we’ve teamed up with local artist-teacher Catherine Farr for a two day course where students can work in the media of their choice and move from creating sketch book pages through to larger studies using colour.  The farm is stunning in autumn with the hedgerow in its spendid seasonal glory, a beautiful backdrop to inspire two days of creativity.

We have six glamping cabins and cottages on the farm – each have their own character but whether you choose one of our off-grid spaces or one of our more on-grid options – each is very cosy and comfortable.  Arrive on Monday evening and get settled into your accommodation before meeting the group for a welcome dinner.  The next morning, take breakfast in your cabin before joining the group for day one of the course.  We’ll break for coffee mid-morning, again for lunch, take refreshments mid-afternoon, and we’ll dine as a group on Tuesday evening.  Day two will follow the same pattern before the course draws to a close on Wednesday, late afternoon.

The course, your accommodation and all meals are included. Prices start from £253pp for two people sharing a cabin, or from £358pp sole occupancy in a cabin.

If you’re local you are welcome to attend as a day student only – the two day course with lunch and snacks included is £120.  We’re also happy to offer rates for non arty-partners who’d just like to come for a break in the Sussex countryside! Partner rates start from £160 depending on choice of accommodation.
