Just a 15 minute drive away from the farm is family owned pub, The White Dog Inn.

Run by father and daughter duo Dale and Harriet, the pub has a lovely welcoming feel.  With a roaring fire in winter time, and a fabulous beer garden for sunny afternoons it’s one of our favourite spots!

The pub is in the beautiful village of Ewhurst Green and from the beer garden you can enjoy wonderful views of Bodiam Castle – perfect for catching some rays in the summertime and enjoying one of the local ales or wines.  The wine list is updated regularly to reflect the change in seasons and includes local English sparkling from award-winning Bluebell Vineyards just 30 miles away.

The Spring menu looks fantastic with lots of locally sourced ingredients.  You’ll find a few pub classics such as fish & chips, and the rest of the menu has a bit of variety for everyone.  There’s pan roasted local pigeon breast, fresh seafood linguine and rosary goats cheese tart.  There’s a great kid’s menu too with a child’s portion Sunday roast available.

For veggies and vegans, try the veggie burger or aubergine parmigiana.  The dessert menu is particularly delicious, with homemade honeycomb ice cream, baked fresh figs and warm chocolate brownie – yum!

They also have a wide range of gluten free dishes and can cater for other dietary requirements too.

The pub is open 7 days a week with the following opening times for food:

• Monday – Thursday between 12:00 – 2:30pm and then 6:30 – 9:00pm
• Friday & Saturday between 12:00 – 3:00pm and then 6:30 – 9:30pm
• Sundays between 12:00 – 5:00pm.

It’s a very popular place – deservedly so – booking is advised! And you can check out their website here.
