Find a quiet corner as far removed from everyday life as possible and open a bestseller – you’ve finally got the time to get lost between the pages.
Aim for a table for two with a view, it doesn’t get much more romantic.
Head out the back – it has a garden area for kids, right?
Turn on a sixpence, there is way too much china at risk from our gang in there…

Q4. If you had to pick one NEW experience while you’re away, which would it be? *

Long afternoons spent quietly beside the water, patiently waiting for the high pitched “seep-seep” and glimmering dive of a resident kingfisher.
A romantic soak in a wood fired hot tub made for two.
Campfire cooking – not the usual mode of making dinner, but so up for the earthy challenge over the crackling fire!
Den building and outdoor theatre. Bring it on! If the kids are happy, then the grown-ups are too.

Q5. Which of the following animals would be on your bucket-list to see? *

Deer – Shy but oh, so curious.
Barn Owl – Paired for life, the ultimate romantics.
Swallow – Dipping and diving, life is wild and free.
Badger – Living en masse, the more the merrier.

Q6. Why and when would you ideally choose to take a glamping break? *

Any time of year – I am flexible. Glamping can be a greener way to take a break. It’s about giving myself some time to S’Lowdown, and nature does that best.
Birthdays, anniversaries, valentines – I want to find a sustainable, but still romantic holiday that shares my values…
Weekends away or school holidays – We have limited time to help keep us connected.
School holidays suit us best, holidays offer more scope for coordinating people – plus, we can be away for longer. No rush, plenty of time to just be.

Q7. What’s your hot beverage of choice? *

Anything, all I want is a beautiful location.
Tea made for me in the softly-lit morning, snuggled within peaceful woods, tucked in a comfy bed.
Hot chocolate, nothing else quite works as well with campfires and marshmallows.
Hot chocolate for the Kids Off Grid – but a beer/prosecco/wine under the stars for the grown-ups later, cheers!

Q8. What is the number 1 thing that is holding you back from taking the leap and going glamping? *

I’m a little nervous about bugs and nature.
It’s the thought of compost loos.
I’m not sure it is “worth” it, but I am curious.
Nothing – I have an unreasonable amount of love for glamping!

Q9. Glamping often boasts rest & change. What kind of transformation are you looking for? *

I’m looking for complete relaxation, pre-prepared meals, how-to guides, local walks and people – my brain needs to switch off.
I want to fall deeply in love (again?), I want beautiful walks, a hot tub, good food…I don’t plan on doing things by halves.
I want connection. Things to do together, campfire cooking – I just want to make the most of every moment and have fun.
As long as we can cook sausages on the fire and keep the kids happy, we’ve nailed it.
